## Engineering challenge: complex geometry and repeatability
Complex aerospace components often combine multi-axis surfaces, difficult access angles and features that must remain stable across repeated setups. The engineering priority is to control the process chain: datum strategy, fixture stiffness, tool reach, cutting sequence and inspection points should be considered together. A useful planning method is to separate critical-to-function dimensions from non-critical surfaces before programming. This keeps the machining plan focused on the features that affect assembly and service performance.
## Process strategy: measure during machining
In-machine probing can verify workpiece position, tool length and tool diameter before the next operation. Where the machine and process are qualified for it, measured offsets can be used to reduce drift rather than relying only on a final inspection report. For high-mix production, the same approach also improves setup repeatability. The process should still define independent inspection points for critical dimensions; probing supports control, but it does not replace an approved inspection plan.
## Inspection and documentation
A complete engineering record should connect the drawing revision, material identification, machining program revision, tool or fixture changes and dimensional results. When a public reference reports a productivity figure, that figure must remain attributed to the source and must not be presented as a result achieved by another supplier. For a real quotation, Sinbo engineers would confirm the customer drawing, material grade, tolerance scheme, quantity, surface treatment and inspection requirements before proposing a process route.
